Great Gatsby: What I Wore To The Cinema!

Hello Lovelies

I thought I'd do a quick blog post about what I wore to the cinema last night as I quite liked what I wore as it gave a retro feel.

This is the outfit that I wore last night, I stuck with the monochrome look but then wore red lipstick and had curled hair to give it that retro feel. The top that I'm wearing is from River Island and I got it a couple of years ago, I got the skirt as a present from Topshop, black tights you can get anywhere and the leather jacket was my mums in the 80's/90's. I added two rings, both from New Look, and wore my watch (which I always wear, which is from Argos) . I really liked this look as it captured the retro feel of Great Gatsby and I just loved wearing it!

I also wore some studded brogues that I got in a sale at River Island to accentuate the vintage look. I really like these shoes as they are so so so comfortable and they look really nice. Plus, the studs are superbly glued/stitched on, so they won't be coming off any time soon.

To match the brown on the brogues, I also wore my brown/cream satchel from Primark! I also got this a long time ago after seeing it in Look and it was a complete bargain, as Primark always is. The cream bit canvas and the brown part is fake leather.

Overall, I had a wonderful evening and Great Gatsby was so good and I now want to marry Leonardo DiCaprio. The cars in the film were amazing, not to mention the clothing and the makeup. Maybe, after all my exams are finished, I'll do a makeup tutorial on the 1920's makeup look and I also want to try finger curls as they look really difficult but I'm up for a challenge.

Also, sorry for the quality of the photographs, I had to quickly take photos of the outfit on my phone. I then edited them with a great app called Snapseed which is made by Nikon?

Thank you for reading! Please go and see Great Gatsby because it's such a great film and the soundtrack for the film was absolutely awesome.

Bye my lovelies!

Make-up and Hair Products Haul

Hello Lovelies!

I went shopping a few days ago and inevitably, I ended up in the make-up aisles! I thought I'd share with you the stuff that I bought and basically do a little review on it for you!

Make-Up Products

All the make-up products that I bought.
1. Sleek - Face Form - £9.99

This is Sleek's face contour kit and it is absolutely amazing as it is a three in one! On the left we have the bronzer, in the middle there is a highlighter and on the right is the blusher. All of these are highly pigmented so a little bit can go a long way, therefore, lasting you a long time. This product has been recommended by other beauty blogs that I follow and they all have said that they love this product and I definitely agree! For the price that it is, it's an amazing bargain for a high quality product and guess what? You can buy it here or if you live in the UK you can buy it in your local Superdrug!

2.  Collection - Lasting Colour in Mango Tango - £2.99

The picture doesn't quite reflect the colour of this lipstick but the colour that it is, is gorgeous. As it says, it is long lasting and it's a highly pigmented colour and for a price of £2.99 it is an incredibly cheap lipstick! A definite buy if you don't have that much to spend. You can buy it here.

3. Barry M - Nail Varnish in 134 Yellow - 2.99

It's a bit of a strange colour nail varnish to buy, but I thought: 'hey it's summer, why not'. Yellow is obviously a summery colour so I thought I'd buy this to accentuate my summer look (hopefully I'll be buying some yellow tops soon). Two coats of this gorgeous nail varnish and you'll be ready to go! You can buy it here.

Hair Products

I succumbed to the immense advertisement of the tangle teezer and bought one and y'know what? I am so glad that I did. That little brush is an amazing little hair gadget that is absolutely fabulous for getting out  knots, so it does exactly what it says on the tin! They are available in a variety of colours but I got the purple and pink one, because purple is my favourite colour.

I also decided to buy some hairspray! This hairspray is absolutely perfect as it does exactly what it says  on the tin. I put my hair in a plait in order to make my hair go wavy yesterday and it's still as wavy as it was this morning! Also this can is 500ml so it is huuuge, which means it'll last a long long time. I'm planning on curling my hair tomorrow so I'll tell you how that goes, maybe i'll do a before and after blogpost. But yeah, this hairspray is great and smells gorgeous so, BUY BUY BUY

Anyway guys! Thanks for reading this, please comment on any tutorials or stuff that you would like me to review etc. If you like the blog, please give it a follow and I'll love you forever xoxo

Bye my lovelies!

April Favourites!

Hello lovelies!

Seeing as it's now May, I should probably do an April Favourites post! I thought this would be a good thing to try as it would show you guys what I'm loving at the moment and hopefully it will give you some inspiration too! Let's get cracking!

1. Wake Me Up Foundation (Rimmel London)

This foundation is possibly the best foundation I have ever used. Other bloggers have been raving about this product so I thought I should give it a go, and it was a great choice! It gives great coverage and lasts for ages so you don't have to worry about it coming off during the day. Personally, I think it does exactly what it  says on the tin, when I put this on, there is not a trace of fatigue upon my face. This is a highly recommended product for anyone to buy.

2. Stay Matte Powder (Rimmel London)

This is another product that I have loved throughout April as it is a lovely powder! It gives a great coverage and stays put all day. For an extremely cheap price, I think everyone should buy this product because you will definitely not regret it.

3. Scandaleyes (Rimmel London)

Oh. My. God.
I have a large mascara collection (of around 8 mascaras maybe 9) and this one is the best one that I have ever used. I have tried all the brands, Estee Lauder, Maxfactor, No7 but this one is far better than any of those brands put together. It grips every lash and makes it stand out extremely well and this mascara lasts for ages as a little bit of it can go a very long way.

4. Butterfly Body Spray (Ted Baker)

This little bottle of loveliness smells of spring and summer mixed together. It has the most gorgeous scent and I carry it around with me everywhere and I have been told by many people (boys and girls) that it smells great. This little bottle is running out on me so I'm going to have to get the larger bottle and this one can stay in my handbag. But if you're looking for a body spray that has a sensational scent and lasts for a while, this is the body spray for  you.

5. CARMEX

This little beauty has been with me 24/7 since November and still hasn't run out! It does absolute wonders for your lips as it keeps them moisturised and looking great all day (top-up applications are needed). As a person that suffers from dry chapped lips all year round, I have tried every lip balm under the sun but this one is the best one I've used ever. I use it before I go to bed to my lips are chapped the next morning and throughout the day!

6. Touchable Finish, Ultimate Hold Hairspray (Tresemme)

As a girl who has naturally straight hair, curling your hair and keeping the curls in can be an extremely difficult task. This, however, has made that task possible and you can tell it's good because I have used it all up. It holds my curls in for a good few hours before the straight hair takes over once more. But if you're trying to keep the curls in for a night out, this is the spray to do it with.

7. Gelly Nail Varnish (Barry M)

Seeing as bright vibrant colours are on the cars for SS13, this is the perfect nail polish to try. This particular collection (Gelly) comes in a range of colours ranging from pastels to crazy, vibrant colours. The great part about this nail varnish is that it only needs one coat and you're ready to go. The only thing is, like all Barry M nail varnishes, it takes a while to dry. But it is most definitely worth it as it stays on your nails for days without chipping.

Thank you all so much for reading this and hopefully I've inspired you to try something new this spring. If you've got anything you want me to review or any recommendations for what I should do next, please leave your comments below!

Gold!

Hi Guys! I haven't posted in such a long time but yet again I have been really busy!

Yesterday I went out and bought some jewelry and I really like a couple of the pieces that I bought so I thought I'd share them with you lot.

Gold Necklace: Chunky Chain

When the heading says 'Chunky Chain' it means it! This is a very chunky necklace but I love it. I've really liked chain necklaces and I couldn't manage to get hold of one that was inexpensive but still looked gorgeous. I found this yesterday in New Look at the price of £6.99, which is a bargain. You can wear this with a black crop top or a dress to make your outfit look edgy.

Gold Ring: Wide Metal Ring

I bought this ring from H&M and it is a really nice ring to wear. At a price of £3.99 it is also inexpensive (and you can buy it here). I found this ring extremely comfortable  and it looks really nice when you wear it with the necklace above.

Quickly, I'm just going to show you nail varnish that would go well with the pieces of jewelry that are displayed above:

This is an idea of what nail varnish you could wear with the ring and necklace if you're going out somewhere nice. The gold nail varnish is part of the Stay Perfect range at No.7 and the glittery nail varnish is one of Topshop's nail varnishes.

Gold Nail Varnish: No7 Stay Perfect in 'Hot to Trot'
Glitter Nail Varnish: Topshop Nails in Ice Crush.

Thank you for reading and hopefully, I'll be able to post something else soon. If you have any suggestions, please comment below

Thank You!

As I am a new blogger seeing that people from all over the world have viewed my blog makes me really excited. I didn't even think I'd get views from the UK let alone from countries such as America and Germany! I would like to thank everyone that has viewed my blog, so far, as it shows that I'm not wasting my time and doing something that I love to do.

Thank You!

Rimmel London - Match Perfection Collection

Rimmel London's Match Perfection range - Foundation and Powder

I thought I'd review two products  that I've absolutely loved and used for many months now. This is Rimmel  London's Match Perfection range! I love this range because it is inexpensive and is very high quality.

This is the foundation that I have and it is really creamy to put on, gives a great coverage and lasts for a very long time, this foundation comes in 16 shades so there is one for every skin tone.  It is also inexpensive at £6.99, so is affordable for anyone with a budget.
Personally, I use a moisturiser so the foundation is easier to apply, but this tip applies to every foundation.

This is the matching powder! This also is inexpensive at a price of £5.99, it has the powder and if you lift up the powder, using the little plastic leaver, there is a compact mirror and a pad to apply it with so no need for brushes!.Although it comes with the pad, I prefer to use a brush as a brush makes it easier to apply the powder. However, there is a limited number of shades as there are only 4 shades to choose from. Apart from that, this powder is worth a try as I think it's one of the best budget option powders that you'll find!

Thank you for reading this and I'll try to do more reviews more frequently as I had a lot of fun shooting these pictures and writing about these two products, which I absolutely adore!

London!

Sorry I haven't posted in a really long time! I've been extremely busy and lots of things are going on in my life right now.

Recently I visited one of my favourite cities (London). During my visit, I visited one of the best buildings which is old but very beautiful, this was St. Paul's Cathedral. Being an 'arty' person I found the characteristics of the building mesmerising; you wouldn't think that a building so beautiful could've been designed and built in the 17th Century!

St Paul's Cathedral in London!

Because I love this building, I thought I would share some facts about it with you!
  1. The architect of this fabulous building was Sir Christopher Wren.
  2. It was built during the scheme to rebuild London after the Great Fire of London.
  3. The style of the building is English Baroque.
  4. The dome (shown above) is actually the back of the Cathedral and is 85m tall!
  5. It has been dominating London's skyline for 300 years.
  6. The cathedral was targeted during the Blitz and was struck by bombs on 10th October 1940 and 17th April 1941. Another bomb was diffused but if it had gone off, it would have blown the cathedral to pieces.
Hopefully, I'll post another blog post soon
